From a Single Acre
to a Living Legacy
It began with a single acre of red earth and a family's unwavering belief that honest farming could feed communities and sustain generations. Our founder, Mr. Nelgate, broke ground in Tamil Nadu over 25 years ago with nothing but determination and deep respect for the land.
What started as a modest vegetable patch grew — slowly and deliberately — into 500 acres of thriving, certified-organic farmland. Every expansion was made without compromising our core conviction: the land must be cared for before it can care for us.
Today, Nelgates Farms is tended by three generations of the same family, each passing down knowledge of the soil, the seasons, and the sacred rhythm of growing things. We are not just farmers — we are stewards of a tradition.

Shaped the Farm
Our founder breaks ground on one acre of Tamil Nadu red soil with a single plough and a family's conviction.
Nelgates Farms receives its first certified-organic recognition, committing fully to chemical-free cultivation.
A decade of patient growth sees the farm cross 100 acres, introducing drip irrigation and water harvesting systems.
We begin delivering produce directly to households in Chennai and Coimbatore — farm to table in under 24 hours.
Nelgates partners with 12 surrounding small farmers, sharing resources, knowledge, and markets — growing together.
Today, Nelgates Farms feeds over 1,200 families and continues to expand — always rooted, always growing.
